We had 9 schools enter the Girls Blakemore’s Cup with 83 Year 5/6 students participating.
The event was played at the Wolves Training Ground at Compton Park. The schools in attendance were St Andrew’s, Bilston C of E, Perry Hall, Woodthorne, Villiers, Palmers Cross, St Mary’s, Uplands, and Stow Heath.
The standard of play was great, with some excellent individual performances too. The games were played fairly and the spirit of the games adhered to throughout – it was a fantastic event.
We had 2 leagues with the top 2 from each league playing off for the silverware. Bilston and Perry Hall played in the 1st and 2nd place, with St Andrew’s and Woodthorne playing off for the 3rd and 4th placing. Both games were close and only 1 goal split the teams.
Results
1st – Bilston
2nd – Perry Hall
3rd – Woodthorne
4th – St Andrew’s
Congratulations to Bilston C of E Primary school.
Thank you to Andy Harris for organising such a lovely event and to Merrick at Wolves for securing such an inspiring venue for our young girls.
