Year 3 had a fantastic morning learning about lines of latitude and longitude. In the past half term the children have been learning about natural disasters including Earthquakes and Volcanoes. Therefore today the children learnt about Hurricanes. They used their new understanding of lines of latitude and longitude to successfully use an atlas to write down the coordinates of some hurricanes that had taken place over the past 15 years. The children then went outdoors and did some orienteering, using a map to find different areas of the school grounds and then complete tasks once at each place. The children loved learning new skills and becoming Geographers.
