Bilston Rotary Club

On Thursday 24th October, members of the Bilston Rotary Club joined us at our school, bringing with them many crocus bulbs. We took our gardening equipment and went to our Adventure Playground to plant them. It was a lovely sunny autumnal morning where the school council managed to plant the bulbs, whilst learning of their importance. The 24th of October signified World Polio Day. The Rotary club chose purple crocuses for this purpose. The purple symbolises the purple dye used to mark the finger of a child who has been immunised with a polio vaccination. Our school council enjoyed learning this and worked hard to plant the bulbs. We look forwards to visiting our school grounds regularly, now eagerly awaiting the arrival of Spring when the crocuses will bloom.
